Why did I stop at 81? Because what I was looking for it's evolution to what it what it became in the 80's . Sort of found what I was looking for . And ... the "spirit is willing..." I got tired . That Philly version IS hot . And it does have an opening solo . If I had the guts, I would go to the end, and also check to see which one dropped the "We Bid You Goodnight" melody etc.
As for the 5/19/74 show, I found all the ones in the year to be interesting, often with Billy, and Keith sort of varying their approaches . The ones I chose were to show continuity with the ones from 72-73 (also they are the first and last in 74) .
There would be a separate category for those pre-Keiths . I know some people think they are the best, and that Fillmore one is up there .
What do you think of those Europe ones ? I though that 5/7 one was a monster . , and the 100 Year Hall One . etc.

I found this on you tube and it is a very nice recording.
Phil and Keith very up front in the mix.
